Heading Home on the Street

Updated: Oct 27, 2022

Following a prompting from the Holy Spirit Heading Home has started a new outreach project called Heading Home on the Street. We are utilizing a large box truck to set up a distribution point for needed items and hygiene bags for the homeless. We have a table and chairs to sit at and minister to our brothers and sisters at the intersection of 290 and 71 (the Y). We also provide food and drinks for our homeless brothers and sisters. We have already had two get togethers with the homeless on the first Monday of August and at a homeless camp on the first Tuesday in September. Beginning in October on the 1st Monday of the month we will be back at the Y and continue to meet at the Y monthly on the 1st Monday of each month. This gives us an opportunity to get to know and minister to our homeless brothers and sisters at the Y on a consistent basis. We have been blessed to have pastor Mitch Kolls from Dripping Springs Presbyterian Church to come along with us and be a part of this effort. We ask that you keep this effort in your prayers so that the Holy Spirit might speak to these brothers and sisters.

Heading Home has also partnered with Hope House, a Christian ministry in Hamilton Texas which offers free rehabilitation for those suffering with addiction. We are offering for sale peanut and pecan brittle made by those in recovery at Hope House. This is a win-win partnership which helps those in recovery with meaningful work and also benefits Heading Home as a fundraiser. The peanut and pecan brittle are approximately 9" round and 1/4" thick and sells for $10 each. It's delicious and makes a great gift. Thank you all for your continuing support and prayers. Feel free to give us a call at 512-800-0385 should you have any questions. God bless you all.
